How to make a cocktail

History of the Black Russian cocktail
The Black Russian cocktail was first made in 1949 in Belgium.
Bartender Gustave Top, who worked at the bar at the Brussels Metropol Hotel, mixed the drink especially for the US Ambassador to Luxembourg, who was staying at the hotel during those days.
The ambassador liked the drink, and was soon included in the hotel menu.
The Black Russian cocktail got its name because of the gloomy, tense relations between the USSR and the USA, which were in a deep recession in those years.
Black Russian is an officially recognized cocktail of the International Bartenders Association (IBA) and is included in the collection of world cocktails published by this organization.
