Can a child watch TV: harm and consequences

The annoying commercials on TV turned out to be a terrible evil. They are not only annoying, but also noticeably harmful.

“I seem to be a bad mother. My child watches cartoons for three hours a day. Any teacher would rip my head off for that. And the mothers would have kicked their feet, ”Katya says melancholy, looking at three-year-old Danya, who really looks into the screen with all his eyes. It’s not good, of course, but sometimes there is simply no other way out: a lot of things to do, and the child doesn’t let him do one, because your most important business is himself. And sometimes you just want to drink tea in peace …

Specialists about children and TV are reserved. Yes, it’s not good. But the harm can be minimized at least a little. If you already include cartoons for your child, include them in the records. Films that go on TV are much more harmful because of the advertisements. This has been figured out — don’t laugh — by British scientists.

In England, the health of children and mothers is taken very seriously. Therefore, more than once or twice they have proposed to ban advertising of fast food and other junk food until nine o’clock in the evening. This is because it is very harmful for children to watch it. In a survey of 3448 children between the ages of 11 and 19, the researchers found that those who often watch ads are much more likely to eat junk food – about 500 chocolates, burgers and packs of chips a year. And, accordingly, such children are more likely to be overweight. That is, advertising really works! This is good news for fast food vendors and bad news for parents with child health concerns.

“We are not suggesting that every teenager who watches ads will inevitably suffer from obesity or diabetes, but the fact that there is a connection between advertising and unhealthy eating habits is a fact,” he said. Daily Mail one of the researchers, Dr. Vohra.

Now the country intends to prohibit the broadcasting of videos that encourage eating fatty foods and drinking sweet soda on children’s channels. Well, and only we ourselves can protect our children. True, experts make a reservation: first you need to set a good example, and then something is prohibited.
