Character education is one of the main tasks of parents, and then of society, preschool and school institutions. It is he who will determine in the future behavioral characteristics, features of the worldview and emotional-volitional sphere, moral values, attitudes and priorities.

When character formation occurs in children

The basis for future individual character traits is laid at birth and in the first years of a child’s life. It was then that the foundation of character is laid – temperament, on which the rest of the characteristics of the little person are later layered.

Character education should be started at a very early age.

By the age of 3 months, the baby begins to interact more consciously with the world, the process of character formation becomes more active. And by the age of 6 months, the baby is mastering the skills of grasping, which later turn into the stage of a purposeful desire to grab the toy he likes.

The next stage begins at the age of 1 year, when the movements of the little person become more independent, he is already making attempts to walk on his own. This period is very important for developing trust in parents, a sense of security and safety.

The easiest way to teach a kid the correct behavior, instill sociability, courage and other important characteristics is to involve him in a collective game.

From 2 to 6 years old, the most active period of the formation of the psyche begins. The circle of communication is expanding, new places, objects, actions are opening up. And here parents and the immediate environment play a huge role, kids copy the behavior of adults, imitate them.

How to help a child in the process of laying down individual traits

In order to help the process of bookmarking certain individual characteristics, the baby needs to be constantly involved in performing any simple tasks:

  • It is possible to instill love and respect for physical labor through joint work activities, where a sense of responsibility and duty, discipline, and diligence will be formed.
  • To instill orderliness, punctuality, accuracy will help the daily routine drawn up by the parents.
  • The rules of interaction, collectivism, friendliness, the ability to defend one’s own opinion, all this is successfully formed during the moments of playing and educational activities in a team. The more children attend developmental classes, circles and sections, the better he socializes and adapts to new conditions for him.

Helping to shape your own worldview, life beliefs and goals is the main task of character education. It is on this that the further behavior of an adult will depend on making important decisions and achieving goals.

The best way to educate is to demonstrate by example. And the best way to educate is a joint game. Involving the kid in the gameplay from a very early age, you can establish rules and norms of behavior for him, instill positive qualities.
