Despite the fact that February is the last month on the winter list, no warming is expected. Frost does not stop, and the snow does not even think to melt.

No wonder in the old days February was called “lute”. The definition of “fierce” is the best fit to describe the weather conditions of this month. Hard frost and violent whirlwinds rage at this difficult time for people.

But it is worth remembering the positive aspects. Firstly, February is the shortest month of the year, which means that officially winter will end soon. Secondly, we gradually begin to feel that the day is getting longer, and this cannot but rejoice.

 

Nevertheless, all our strength and resources are running out. Now we need to start the second wind. And we will do this using the methods we already know: healthy sleep, walks in the fresh air, morning exercises and, of course, healthy and wholesome nutrition.

Our immune system is nearly exhausted and needs recharging. Epidemics of infectious diseases are about to begin and we need strength to resist them. Therefore, we urgently increase our immunity and make up for the deficiency of vitamin C. In February, as in January, our body needs warmth, so try to eat more hot food.

Due to the lack of vitamins, trace elements and sunlight, there is a high probability of progression of depressive moods, so one should not miss the opportunity, especially on sunny days, to walk in the fresh air.

We must provide our body with all the substances it needs. It is not so easy to do this in winter. But there are foods that will help us to strengthen the body at this time of the year and will allow us to welcome spring with joy.

Sauerkraut

For a long time it has been a popular and extremely useful product, especially in the winter-spring period.

Sauerkraut is the absolute leader among canned vegetables in terms of vitamin C. In addition, it is famous for a large amount of vitamins A and B. Vitamins are found both in the cabbage itself and in its brine. In sauerkraut cabbage, 2 times more vitamins are stored than in shredded cabbage. If you ferment and store cabbage according to all the rules, then you can enjoy a tasty and healthy product for 6-8 months.

Another feature of sauerkraut is its low calorie content. 100 g of the product contains only 20 kcal, most of which is spent on the digestion of what has been eaten.
