How to extend the durability of a varnish: expert advice

To make your manicure last as long as possible, we advise you to follow a few important tips.

We are all waiting for a vacation as a real miracle, because after the cold weather we really want to soak up the sun, swim in the warm sea and be irresistible at the same time. Many girls take a very responsible approach to travel and do a manicure, and if those who prefer gel polishes have no particular problems, then those who choose an ordinary polish face many problems. We all know that not every varnish will stand the test of the sea and the sun, so we decided to ask the experts what will help prolong the durability of the manicure.

All experts unanimously declare that the varnish will last many times longer if the nail plate is healthy. “Try to remove the length as much as possible during the manicure, as due to any mechanical impact on the free edge, you risk damaging the coating,” says Kristina Muslimova, nail stylist PENG.

You should also follow simple rules before applying varnish. “Do not soak your nails before coating. It is best to avoid contact with water before polishing your nails. Soaking your hands makes your nails absorb moisture and expand. This means that after the nails become dehydrated, they will shrink and your nail polish will crack and flake off. Therefore, it is better to use cuticle oil “, – advises Svetlana Toropova, a master of manicure of the network of the studio “Manicuroff”.

Before coating, it is necessary to remove the natural gloss from the platinum, it is best to do this with a soft buff, so it will prepare the nails.

“Even before coating the varnish, you can degrease the surface of the marigold using white vinegar. Take a cotton pad, slightly moisten it with vinegar and wipe the nail. It will degrease the nail plate well and create a persistent barrier between the nail and the varnish. As soon as your nails are dry, apply a base coat, ”comments Svetlana Toropova.

Be sure to use a base (it enhances the adhesion to the varnish and does not allow the nail plate to stain), varnish in two layers and a top coat.

“Don’t forget about the ‘free edge’ of your marigolds. Be sure to paint over the tip of the nail around when we apply the base, the main color and the top, with this we “seal” the tips of the marigolds and ensure the tightness of the entire marigold, ”says Svetlana Toropova.

Since ordinary varnish may not always be persistent, on vacation you will still have to devote a little time to nails. It is best to bring the most essential tools with you to quickly rectify any situation.

Svetlana Toropova reminds that the transparent top layer must be applied every two to three days so that cracks do not form and the nails shine.

“Whenever possible, take with you on vacation a top, base coat and color in a miniature format for a quick three-step overlap of a chipped nail. An instant nail polish remover sponge is ideal for removing the coating. Place your finger in the opening of the sponge and twist your finger several times to remove the coating. The ergonomic packaging is ideal for travel.

If there is no colored coating nearby, you can save the manicure using glitter. Remove the coating from the chipped nail and cover it with 2-3 layers of glitter, or, if the chipping is insignificant, cover the nail with a shimmer over the colored coating to mask, ”says Kristina Muslimova.

Of course, it is always possible not to varnish your nails at all. “Give your nail a real detox. Complete your bare manicure using a nail file as a finishing step. Vacation is the perfect time to heal problematic, peeling nails. Take your cuticle oil and cream with you to give the nail plate a rest and regeneration. Use these funds twice a day (in the morning and in the evening) or before going to bed, ”recommends Christina Muslimova.
