Kelsey Anderson goes to a regular American school. There is no strict form there, only a certain dress code is prescribed: nothing too provocative and capable of disrupting the educational process. Schoolchildren interpret this prescription quite freely: they go to lessons in jeans, T-shirts, sneakers. And no one sees anything reprehensible in this. More precisely, I did not see it. The teacher sent her to the principal with the wording “dress code violation.” When the girl tried to clarify what was wrong with her clothes, he stated that she was … too busty! “You have bigger breasts than others. You have to do something about this. Apologize publicly, for example. Kelsey even asked to be transferred to another class. But the director refused to go to meet Melissa and her daughter.
On the same day, an angry woman wrote about the incident on her Facebook page: “My daughter goes to school to study. Instead, we all sat and discussed her breasts! Tell me, how often do boys face such treatment? I think this is such a new way to deprive our daughters of education. “
To support her opinion, Melissa posted another photo: her daughter with a classmate. It’s easy to see that Kelsey’s friend is dressed more provocatively than herself. Instead of a modest long-sleeved sweater, there is a top with thin spaghetti straps that reveals the belly. And the chest is also rather big. “But the dress code today was violated only by one of them,” the woman says indignantly.
Melissa’s post became wildly popular and spread over the network: it was shared more than 60 thousand times. Most of the inhabitants of the Internet supported the woman. And they encouraged her to turn to a lawyer: Melissa intends to sue the school.
“I am starting this battle for my daughter and for all of us,” she wrote.
